Study these sequences carefully. Among beginning and intermediate players, this is a common method of trying to prevent a bet. As you know, players staring at you are less of a threat than those staring away. So here we have two examples of a player combining two tells that point in the same direction (looking at the bettor and reaching for chips). Both players probably hold weak hands. Observing these tells gives you opportunities to bet hands you would have otherwise checked.
